Quests - Watch your side bar on the left for family faces with a "." next to it. Later, I mostly just sold my roots for XP when I wasnt cooking them for energy. I fed the animals whenever I could, as the trader asked for these items a lot. You get a small amount of XP and more crafting items for doing so. You can also make feed for goats and chickens with roots and corn. You can only use it when your energy bar is below your maximum, but it can keep you moving forward. Sometimes islands will have pre-placed dynamites and I always blew those up when I had the gems.įood - foods a great way to get energy. You get quite a lot of XP for collecting resources (especially high energy cost resources) and dynamite exploding it all when you don't have the energy to get by can move you ahead. A better use of your gems would be dynamite. Generally, I sold sticks and logs down pretty low, and was always turning my grass into ropes and my rocks into scrapers.ĭynamite - I used a lot of my gems on ending crafting quickly because I was only playing every few hours and needed more scrapers than I had. The resources you can't pick up scatter on the floor and may be harder to pick up if they land behind a tree or something. Have too many resources? Start selling stuff for XP or to the trader before continuing. I always picked the cheapest energy cost path through to complete objectives, and then you can choose to take the side paths for the extras. They will be full of chests, energy gifts, berry bushes, and completing the quests there grants decent XP. The other islands, however, will be your bread and butter. Those who experienced a severe slow down in gaining levels likely participated in these islands. (I am 29/30 on the leaderboard and when it ends I'll still get 40 energy, all I did was go in for the free energy boxes at the start) These islands give you cosmetics for your island, and the rewards from the leaderboard, but since you don't get XP it's not worth your energy. Just get your name on that leaderboard and leave. I wouldn't even break even the energy it gave you. This will put you on the leaderboard and if it runs out during your 7 days, you will get some energy for visiting. For that reason, I would recommend going there, collecting any quick, easy to grab presents or berries at the start for the energy, and getting out. The event islands get a little leaderboard and you get rewards for being on it, and I wanted to be first for 5 keys, ultimately it was not worth it. You DO NOT gain XP for collecting resources there. AVOID these purple event islands (labeled "Adventure"). Some of these islands will only stay up for 24 hours after you visit them, and there is always at least one event island. Islands - You will be visiting islands other than your own as part of quests. I was holding off at first but I don't think I ever actually ran out of them while I played since I was getting so many keys from always trading when I could. Golden tools - I basically used these whenever I had the opportunity to. These keys let you open chests that give XP, Energy, and golden tools. It kept my storage levels down and the trader gives you energy and KEYS for making the trade. Trader - I always made the trades when I could. Upgrade your storage areas when you can, of course, so you can hold more materials, but if your storage is full, sell some you have an excess of for the XP or trade with the trader (and later the shaman) to turn your mats into rarer or more useful things. Storage - You will likely not have much storage (All storage buildings expand the same storage allotment, so don't worry about increasing rock storage over food storage for example). Always have clay bowls being made, always be making rope, etc. Some quests need a lot, and other materials you will make use them as well. You will need a LOT of rock scrapers for just about everything. Later down the line these will get more difficult to complete, but if you can get one done, go for it.Ĭrafting - Always be crafting what you can. So starting out I'd recommend of course completing the quests given to you. This makes the farms very useful, but I would avoid doing this at the start too much for your regular resources like grass and rocks etc. Note: This game lets you sell your resources for XP 1 to 1. Here's some tips for anyone looking to complete this offer. I only was playing every few hours, then got down to every hour or so as the deadline approached, so I could have improved my time there for sure. You'll get the most progress if you visit every 15m or so when possible since resources do not take a lot of time to finish. Overall this game wasn't that bad in my opinion, but it was a VERY needy game. I panicked on my last day and did end up spending money for more energy, but I made some mistakes and might not have needed to. First of all, it pends at level 20, which is great because I am not convinced 24 is possible in 7 days.
